Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

Learning Waypoints builds free curriculum tools for educators. It is designed to respect privacy: most tools run entirely in your browser and collect no personal data. This policy explains, tool by tool, exactly what is stored or transmitted.

The website

The Learning Waypoints website and tools are hosted on Vercel. As with any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) in order to serve and secure the site. We do not run advertising and do not use cross-site tracking networks.

Some tools use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (for example, GoatCounter) to understand overall usage — such as how many times a page is viewed. These analytics are designed to avoid collecting personal information: they do not use tracking cookies, do not build advertising profiles, and do not follow you across other sites. They help us see which tools are useful, not who you are.

How each tool handles data

View-only tools — nothing stored

These tools display curriculum information only. They store nothing and send nothing anywhere.

ACARA Progressions · MYP Framework Explorer

Local-only tools — your work stays on your device

These tools save your work in your own browser (local storage on your device) so it persists between sessions, and let you export or import it as JSON files that you control. This data stays on your device. It is not sent to Learning Waypoints, and we cannot see it.

Waypoints Planner · Waypoints Insight · Topic Explorer · Waypoints Audio · Waypoints Present

Marp Importer (Canva app) — nothing stored, nothing transmitted

Marp Importer runs entirely inside Canva. When you paste Marp markdown, it is processed in your browser to create pages in your current Canva design. The app has no server of its own, stores nothing, and transmits nothing to Learning Waypoints or any third party. The content you paste never leaves your Canva session. Because it operates within Canva, Canva's own privacy policy also applies.

Waypoints Signal — the only tool with an account

Signal is the only tool that uses a sign-in. Authentication is by magic link, handled by Supabase. The only personal information collected is your email address, used solely to sign you in and associate your check-ins with your account. Magic-link sign-in emails are sent through Resend. No names or other personal details are collected, and this information is never used for marketing.

Third-party services

Where a tool relies on an external service, that service processes data only as needed to provide its function:

Children's privacy

Learning Waypoints tools are intended for use by educators. Where students use Waypoints Signal, the only data processed is an email address used for sign-in. Schools and teachers are responsible for obtaining any consent required under applicable law before students use account-based tools. If you believe a student's information has been provided without appropriate consent, contact us and we will remove it.

Retention and deletion

Data held by local-only tools lives on your own device — you can clear it at any time through the tool's controls or your browser. For Waypoints Signal, you can request deletion of your account and email address at any time by emailing support@learningwaypoints.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised date.
